HURRICANE WILMA MOVED THROUGH BROWARD COUNTY ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2005
99% of Broward County residents were without power immediately
following the storm.
Central Broward Water Control District staff were out inspecting canals
as soon as the storm cleared the area. The level of devastation
along our 100 miles of canals revealed that at least 75% were blocked by
fallen trees and debris in storm drains and culverts. The crew was
dispatched immediately and began the process of clean up.
More than 300 photographs were taken to document the damage.
