This annual event drew more than 400 people who were willing to help clean up
our canal!
DAVIE WATERWAY CLEANUP 2007:
Commissioner Judy Bunce and Alice Bell exhibit their
skills of using the pole net to retrieve garbage from the water.
Beer cans, cellophane wrappers and
an old shoe emptied right away, but broken
fishing line became entangled in Alice's fishing net. Imagine if that were
a fish's mouth
instead of a net! Thanks to Alice and Judy for their good work!
The group heads out on the boat with
District staffers Scott Winter and Tom Wagner
to clean up in the C-11 Canal. Davie Town Council Member Susan Starkey,
second from left,
joined the Commissioners to help with this important project! Thanks to
